I've been trying to set up a simple night/day cycle to my scene by rotating the directional light's X and Y axis. The problem that I face however, is that the illumination the terrain receives changes in an odd fashion when Y-axis is being changed on the directional light (See: https://i.gyazo.com/f35298a437a71074635328843180dd36.mp4, the moving box can be ignored)
This obviously is being lit wrong, as it is clearly much darker from another angle despite the the sun being at the exact same height with nothing obscuring the light from it. I've tried changing materials, shaders, playing around with the directional light settings, but I just can't seem to figure out what's causing it.
Does anybody have an idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
